About Alina
My passion for understanding human behaviour began with A-level Psychology, which led me to complete a BSc in Psychology at Royal Holloway, University of London. I’m now continuing my journey with an MSc in Clinical Psychology. My academic background has given me a strong foundation in areas such as cognitive psychology, developmental psychology, research methods, and clinical applications - knowledge I love sharing with others. During my studies, I designed and conducted independent research, analysed data using SPSS and R, and produced a First-class dissertation exploring how cognitive and sensory factors influence attention in individuals with ADHD traits. This experience taught me how to explain complex ideas clearly and to guide students through every stage of the learning and writing process. I’m patient, organised, and genuinely passionate about Psychology. My goal as a tutor is not only to help students improve their grades, but to help them feel confident in their ability to think critically, apply theory, and enjoy the subject. Whether you need help preparing for exams, structuring essays, or understanding key theories, I’ll support you every step of the way.

As a Psychology graduate (BSc, Royal Holloway, University of London) and a current MSc in Clinical Psychology student, I take a personalised and supportive approach to tutoring. I aim to make Psychology engaging and intuitive by connecting theoretical concepts to real-life examples and current research. My lessons focus on helping students understand material deeply, not just memorise it - building confidence in applying knowledge to essays, exams, and coursework. I adapt my teaching methods to each student’s needs and learning style, using a mix of explanations, practice questions, visual summaries, and interactive discussions. For research methods and statistics, I guide students step-by-step through examples using simple data sets or SPSS to make abstract concepts feel practical and clear. A typical lesson lasts 60 minutes, although shorter or longer sessions can be arranged depending on focus and schedule. I currently teach GCSE, A-Level, and Undergraduate Psychology students, as well as those looking to strengthen their academic writing, referencing (APA style), and study skills. My goal is to help students feel confident, curious, and capable - to see Psychology not as a subject to “get through,” but as a fascinating way to understand how people think, feel, and behave.
