About Aanya
I am a published writer, I have written for the UN's website in Indonesia, interned at multiple advertising agencies (including a project for LinkedIn), worked marketing/sales jobs and I have also written for UofT's newspaper. I am currently studying English, Political Science and Cinema Studies at the University of Toronto. I have completed the IB program with 6/7 in higher level English, Global Politics and Psychology. I have also been an IB tutor before, so I'm very familiar with TOK and the Extended Essay process as well.

My approach as a tutor is based on patience, encouragement, holistic research, and not limiting a student's creative expression. I am able to help middle school and high school students, including those taking the IB program. If I were helping a student with an essay, I would give them time to brainstorm ideas and guide them towards topics that have a substantial amount of information. I would teach how to research the correct way and use reliable methods of research to find credible primary and secondary sources. I believe that the way someone researches is very crucial to making their assignment stand out as brilliant. I would divide the lessons by giving helpful methods to work on thesis, paragraph structure, in text citation styles and references, as well as learning rhetorical devices and techniques.
