About Paul
I'm Paul, an English tutor based in South Africa with a Qualifi Level 5 TEFL Diploma. I started teaching because I'm genuinely fascinated by how language works — the structure behind it, the history, and the gap between knowing grammar and actually using it.
Outside of teaching I research word origins, practice my Chinese (not as much as I should), and write the occasional poem.

Every lesson is a real conversation. I don't drill grammar from a textbook — I guide you through topics that matter to you, steering your English naturally while you speak. After each lesson, you receive a structured worksheet that breaks down exactly what we covered, so the grammar clicks on paper after it's already clicked in your head.
I hold a Qualifi Level 5 TEFL Diploma and teach English at A1 through B2+ level. I'm also studying Mandarin Chinese, which means I understand what it actually feels like to learn a language from scratch — and Chinese-speaking learners can receive bilingual English/Mandarin worksheets after every lesson.
