About Catherine

I am a qualified intermediate and senior phase teacher (grades 4-9) in both English and Social Science (Geography and History) and also have all three of my Psychology Levels. I have taught in various schools and in varying age brackets since 2018 and in September 2020 started private tutoring and facilitating.

About the lesson

When teaching, I strive to find correlation between the work at hand and life around us as I believe people learn better when they themselves understand work more in their own contexts. I firmly believe in unpacking work thoroughly and commencing a lesson by stimulating prior-knowledge in order to test where the learner's knowledge lies. From there onwards, I work with where they are and build from there. I am an energetic and creative person so working with me is never bland!

Catherine is very enthusiastic, engaging and relatable tutor that goes the extra mile to ensure that you understand the work. I myself enjoyed my lesson with her and learnt a lot about the subjects I am aiming to teach as a soon to be teacher.
