About Gurpreet

I love learning and the science of how we learn (Yes, a bit geeky, but I love cognitive science, teaching and learning and growth mindset research!) I follow the work of Craig Barton, author of "how I wish I had been taught maths" and many others in the field which has transformed my practice from Good to Outstanding, with students enjoying their learning and their success as a result

About the lesson

My background: I have 10+ years of experience tutoring adults, teens and young children, and am employed as a Curriculum Leader in Maths in a mixed comprehensive. I am an Examiner for two exam boards, have written for and contributed to Oxford, Cambridge and RSA exams as well as the Times Educational Supplement. I am also a Professional Development Lead with NCETM (National Centre for Excellence in Teaching Mathematics). Me as a teacher: I know that maths does not come easily to many people and have a growth mindset mentality to help you get to where you'd like to! We can always try an initial session and figure out a plan going forwards tailored to your requirements. I tutor from home and online via Zoom or MS Teams. We can arrange to have tutoring sessions at your home also.
