About Giovanni

I've been teaching lessons for several years. The lesson is always prepared ad hoc with each student, each one is different than the other! There is always a part of listening to music, technique study, practice on the instrument, theoretical part and rhythmic solfeggio

About the lesson

Yes to technique but also to the music!

- About the drums (components, sound characteristics / modes of use)
- Drummer positioning (right handed, left handed, open handed
throne position, back setting, legs and arms position)
- Grips (French, German, Traditional, American)
- Sticks types (characteristics, models, brushes, mallets, rods)
- General note and subdivisions scheme (binary, ternary)
- Rhythmic solfeggio (Dante Agostini with drumming application)
- Hands technique (wrist, fingers, forearm, shoulder, free, full, down, tap, up strokes, push pull, freehand, moeller)
- Pas rudiments
- Stickings
- Accents studies
- How to manage dynamics
- Foot technique (heel down, heel up, in and out, applications on HH, double bass drumming)
- Rudiments on snare (Dante Agostini, Wilcoxon)
- Rudiments on drumset (as groove, as fill)
- Musical interpretation (moving phrases around the set, linear drumming)
- Independence studies
- Drumming philosophy (organic drumming, movement, singing)
- Genres language studies (Rock, Metal, Pop, Blues, Disco, Funk, Jazz, Latin/afro)
- Irregular timing studies (polyrythms, displacement, modulation)
- Metronome studies (internal click building, different click positioning and managing)
- Song listening and studies (how to keep track of beats, time signature, what the drums do in this bridge?, play along)
- Hints on drums tuning
