About Tom
Hello! My name is Tom, and I am a qualified UK Primary School Teacher (PGCE with Qualified Teacher Status) with a First Class Honours degree in English Language, Linguistics and TESOL. I am passionate about helping learners develop confidence in English, and I believe that everyone can succeed with the right support and encouragement.
As a newly qualified teacher, I have recent classroom experience teaching the English National Curriculum and supporting primary-aged children with a wide range of abilities. Throughout my training, I planned and delivered lessons that promoted progress, built confidence and fostered a genuine enjoyment of learning. My academic background also enables me to support learners beyond the primary classroom, with lessons tailored to each individual's goals and level.

I offer personalised one-to-one online English tuition for learners of all ages and abilities, with a particular specialism in supporting primary-aged children (approximately ages 5–11). Whether you are looking to improve reading, writing, spelling, grammar, comprehension or overall confidence in English, each lesson is carefully tailored to your individual needs, strengths and learning goals.

My teaching approach is centred on creating a positive, engaging and supportive learning environment where learners feel confident to ask questions, make mistakes and celebrate their progress. I use a range of evidence-informed teaching strategies, including clear modelling, guided practice, retrieval activities and regular formative assessment, ensuring that each learner develops a secure understanding before moving on. Lessons are interactive, enjoyable and adapted to suit every individual's pace, ability and preferred learning style.
Lessons typically last 60 minutes, although shorter 30- or 45-minute sessions are available for younger learners where appropriate.
