About Iain

Hello! My name is Iain and I am offering public speaking sessions.

Over the past half decade, I’ve taught and practiced public speaking extensively. I’ve been part of the University of Nottingham Public Speaking Society for five years, including two as President and one as Training Officer. In that time, I’ve coached over 300 students, five of whom went on to win awards at national competitions (including one national university champion). I've also won a national competition myself.

Alongside this, I spent two years as a freelance coach with Loudspeaker LTD, delivering sessions to over 1,000 young people across schools, colleges, NCS, and summer camps. This has given me wide-ranging experience working with people of all ages, backgrounds, and learning styles.

About the lesson

I offer one-to-one online tutoring sessions, fully tailored to your individual goals and experience level. Whether you're a beginner seeking to build confidence, or a seasoned pro, every lesson is designed specifically around what you want to achieve.

We’ll begin with a free 30-minute introductory session, where we’ll discuss your needs, goals, and any challenges you're facing. This is your opportunity to see how I work, and for us to build a plan that suits your style and timeline.

My lessons combine visual, auditory, and verbal teaching methods, making them dynamic, practical, and engaging. We’ll cover all the key elements of public speaking such as body language, vocal range, confidence-building, structuring speeches, and audience engagement; with a balance of theory and real-world practice.

Sessions are flexible in length (starting from 1 hour) and can be scheduled at a pace that suits you, whether you’re preparing for a speech, a presentation, or just want to build general confidence in communication.

Over the past three years, I’ve worked with hundreds of people on their public speaking skills, from nervous first-timers to experienced professionals. The course you’ll follow has been carefully refined through real-world experience, has won awards, and has even helped complete beginners go on to become national champions. It’s a proven method that builds confident, capable speakers who know how to make a real impact.
