I believe every learner is unique, so I tailor every lesson to the student's age, ability, learning style and goals. My teaching methodology is student-centred, engaging and supportive, focusing on building confidence while developing practical English language skills in a relaxed and encouraging environment.

Before lessons begin, I carry out an informal assessment through conversation, short activities or previous work to identify strengths, areas for development and individual learning objectives. Together with the student, and parents where appropriate, we set realistic, achievable goals and regularly review progress.

A typical lesson lasts 30–60 minutes and follows a clear structure: a warm-up activity, introduction of new language or skills, guided practice, interactive activities, independent tasks and a recap to reinforce learning. I use a variety of teaching methods, including games, stories, role-play, phonics, visual resources, real-life scenarios and digital learning tools to keep lessons enjoyable and effective.

For younger learners, I focus on phonics, early literacy, reading, writing, spelling and grammar while making learning fun through creative activities. For teenagers and adults, lessons are tailored to their personal or professional goals and may include conversational English, pronunciation, grammar, vocabulary, reading comprehension, writing, Business English, workplace communication, interview preparation, CV writing, exam preparation, travel English and everyday communication. I encourage adults to develop confidence through practical, real-life situations, helping them use English naturally at work, when travelling or in social settings.

I provide regular feedback, ongoing assessments and personalised lesson plans to ensure steady progress and adapt lessons as learners develop. I also maintain open communication with parents or guardians where appropriate, offering updates and suggestions to support learning outside the classroom.

As a qualified TEFL English teacher with a BSc (Hons) Open Degree, including studies in Childhood Studies and Child Psychology, Health and Social Care, Mental Health, Leadership and Social Work Law, I bring a broad understanding of how people learn and communicate. My experience as an Open University Student Mentor has further strengthened my ability to motivate, encourage and support learners from diverse backgrounds.

My aim is not only to improve English language skills but also to inspire confidence, independence and a genuine enjoyment of learning. Whether teaching a young child learning to read, a student preparing for exams or an adult looking to improve English for work, travel or everyday life, I provide a personalised learning experience that helps every learner achieve their goals at their own pace.
