About Helena

I like maths and economics a lot, and I will probably major in that. I can play table tennis and tennis quite well, and always willing to meet people around the world. Also, I read literatures weekly.
I can be both introverted and extroverted. And if you want to know anything about Chinese culture and especially how Chinese students of your age are doing, I can offer your 1st hand information and experiences.

About the lesson

- teaching method and techniques: based on what you want, I can be both strict and tolerant; also my style can change if you strongly prefer a specific way of teaching. However, my principle is that as long as you take up something, you should not give up on it easily.

- a typical lesson plan: for beginners, a class of 40 minutes is necessary for at least once a week; I will assign some homework and expected you to hand in since it is very important to practice as a beginner.
Here is how a typical lesson can be spent:
1. class review/ last time homework feedback (5minutes)
2. warm up (10minutes, talking with the student and teaching some Chinese phrases based on the conversation)
3. sentence formation (20minutes, basically grammar part and practicing)
4. new vocabularies and homework assign

- why I am a special tutor?
a. I had a lot of experiences of learning a foreign language.
b. I am a student currently and am passionate about teaching a language.
c. I need money for my tuition and studying abroad, and I hope I can own some by myself.

- lessons for:
a. beginners
b. intermediates
c. people who want to discuss Chinese literatures or cultured

I have known Helena for 5 years since middle school. Helena is an outstanding tutor, especially in both Chinese and English. As a student from one of the top international schools in Shanghai, she brings a high level of expertise and skill. Her pronunciation in both languages is excellent, which really helps in learning. On top of that, she's incredibly patient, always taking the time to make sure you understand. I highly recommend Helena for anyone looking to improve their language skills!
