About Jelena
My name is Jelena, and I am excited to help you learn Serbian! While this is my first time teaching Serbian, I have experience teaching skiing and drawing, which has helped me develop patience, adaptability, and a fun approach to learning. I believe that learning a language should be enjoyable and engaging, so I strive to create lessons that are interactive, practical, and tailored to your needs. In my free time, I enjoy reading, swimming, photography, baking cakes, and spending time with children. I love exploring new hobbies, and this year, I am even trying my hand at growing tomatoes for the first time! By profession, I am an interior architect, with a master’s degree and specialization in urban renewal. I have been working as a project manager at a company for 15 years.

Typical Lesson Plan
My lesson plans are tailored to each individual. Some students prefer starting with vocabulary, others with grammar, and some may focus on learning the alphabet first. For many, learning even a single sentence is the biggest motivation. I adjust my approach based on how the student learns best, combining different methods to make learning engaging and effective.
The goal is to learn something – no matter how small – and build on that knowledge over time. During the first lesson, we will establish a personalized plan. Topics we cover include: letters, vocabulary, grammar, sentence construction, and speaking.
