• When did you develop an interest in your chosen field and in private tutoring?

  My interest in my chosen field and private tutoring developed during my academic journey, where I recognized the value of personalized instruction in helping students achieve their full potential. This led me to pursue tutoring to support student success while enhancing my own knowledge and teaching skills.

• Tell us more about the subject you teach, the topics you like to discuss with students (and possibly those you like a little less).

  I teach mathematics, a subject that plays a crucial role in developing problem-solving and critical thinking skills. Mathematics not only strengthens logical reasoning but also equips students with valuable tools that can be applied to everyday situations, from financial decision-making to practical problem-solving.I particularly enjoy discussing topics such as algebra, geometry, and calculus, as these areas often challenge students to think creatively and analytically. While I find these topics engaging, I understand that some students may struggle with certain concepts, such as abstract reasoning or complex word problems. However, I approach these challenges with patience and personalized strategies to help students build confidence and mastery in the subject. My ultimate goal is to show students the real-world relevance of mathematics and empower them with the skills they need to succeed both academically and in daily life.

• Did you have any role models; a teacher that inspired you?

  I was fortunate to have a teacher who had a significant impact on me-my high school mathematics teacher. They not only demonstrated a strong understanding of the subject but also showed genuine care for each student's learning. Their ability to explain complex concepts with clarity and patience made mathematics both accessible and exciting. This teacher encouraged me to see math as a practical tool for solving real-world problems.
  
  When I tutor students, I try to bring the same level of patience and understanding that I experienced. Their approach continues to inspire my teaching style, as I believe that a supportive and encouraging environment is essential for helping students gain confidence and mastery in mathematics.

• What do you think are the qualities required to be a good tutor?

  A good tutor should be patient, clear, and approachable. They must be able to explain concepts in a way that suits each student's learning style and be supportive in building confidence. Good tutors also need strong communication skills, adaptability, and a genuine passion for helping students succeed.

• Provide a valuable anecdote related to your subject or your days at school.

  In school, I once struggled with algebraic long division. My teacher patiently guided me through the process, breaking it down into manageable steps. The way they explained it has stayed with me, and I still use that method to help students understand the concept today.

• What were the difficulties or challenges you faced or still facing in your subject?

  One of the challenges I faced in math was spending too much time finding different ways to solve problems. While it could be time-consuming, it ultimately helped me become a better teacher by allowing me to approach problems from various angles and find the most effective explanations for my students.

• Do you have a particular passion? Is it teaching in general or an element of the subject or something completely different?

  My particular passion lies in teaching mathematics. I find great satisfaction in helping students understand concepts and develop problem-solving skills. I am especially passionate about making math more accessible and showing its real-world applications. Beyond the subject itself, I'm also passionate about fostering a positive learning environment where students feel supported and confident in their abilities.
