About Oliver
I'm a huge neek (geek + nerd). That alone is off-putting to many, but I believe in being down to earth and passionate about what you love. I've been entered into many fiery debates and writing competitions. I've won some, lost some, but what I write and orate comes from the heart. Language, not just English, manifests itself in so many ways in modern society, and I believe that apathy brought across by the perception that English is an elite subject needs to be crushed. Having a tutor that is - in many ways - still at the same level as a student, is really effective in this.

Hi! I'm a student myself; and - having gone through years of British education - offer a break from textbooks and dull linear learning. I offer real-life context and relatable insights contained in a dynamic, rigorous and conversational learning method. That's how I, and many others, learn best. Instead of taking interpretations from a textbook about a text, I would prefer to ask a student their initial thoughts, provide some pointers and context, and help them develop it into a passionate and well-rounded interpretation that will help them ace their exams! I've always been seen as that neek in class, but I hope I can be relatable and adaptable for every student. Understanding a student's mindset is hugely more effective than indoctrinating them to feel a certain way about something. I offer hour-length lessons for 8-15 year olds doing their 11+, GCSE prep, or just prospective kids who wanna succeed!
