About Anthony

I am a retired Head of Science with 20 years experience teaching Biology, Chemistry and Physics KS3, GCSE and A level. I have been an examiner for over 18 years at GCSE and A Level. My qualifications include:- MSc in Science PGCE in Secondary Science Education PGCE in Educational Philosophy BSc(Hons) in Chemistry and Earth Sciences BSc(Hons) Psychology with Counselling

About the lesson

My philosophy of education when I was in teaching was that all children are unique and must have a stimulating educational environment where they can confidently engage in learning. As a private tutor I have maintained this philosophy and helped many struggling students to improve. The reason a student is struggling doesn’t matter, what is important is that your child deserves a good education. When I take on a student, I initially determine an academic baseline, identify weaknesses and then develop a lesson strategy to suit their need. This is followed by bespoke lessons, focusing on weaknesses, homework and testing, improving confidence and ultimately overall grade. I have been tutoring for 7 years and completed approximately 7000hrs of lessons, I have taught students from the UK, China, Philippines, Kuwait and the United States.

Anthony taught me in GCSE chemistry, he is always extremely helpful as he explains things in detail and provides useful resources, which helped me prepare for my GCSE exam.
