For me one of the key points of tutoring is to build positive relationships with my students. A strong tutor-tutee relationship is the foundation for the learning process. As a tutor I like to come prepared with lesson plans that address student needs and help them reach the next level of whatever subject we are covering. I also like to use a variety of available resources to enrich learning experiences. The use of effective questioning also helps drive each session and engages students in thinking. I believe in an interaction that engages students in thinking deeply about the material. For most of my lessons, I am most comfortable and effective in the grade 1 to 8 levels, with some subjects like History my educational background lets me extend my knowledge to grade 10.
