• Tell us more about your subject. How did you develop an interest in this field?

  I teach Karate, Kickboxing, and Fitness, fields that are deeply personal to me. I started learning karate at a young age, and over 13 years of dedication have earned my 2nd-degree black belt and represented my country internationally. My passion grew as I realized the immense physical, mental, and emotional benefits martial arts offer-not only as a sport but as a way of life. This motivated me to pursue teaching and share these life-changing benefits with others.

• What or who is the motivation behind you choosing to teach & why?

  Teaching allows me to combine my passion for martial arts with my desire to help others. The motivation comes from the confidence, discipline, and empowerment I see developing in my students. I've worked with diverse groups, including children, adults, and even individuals with ADHD and autism. The transformative impact martial arts has on their lives inspires me every day to teach and give back to society.

• How does your work help society?

  My work contributes to society by promoting physical fitness, mental resilience, and personal safety. In addition to regular classes, I have conducted self-defense programs in various places, equipping participants with skills to protect themselves and feel empowered. Teaching martial arts builds a healthier and more confident community, instilling discipline and values that go beyond the dojo.

• If you had to think of a role model for your work, who do you think of & why?

  My role model is my first karate instructor, who not only taught me techniques but also the values of patience, perseverance, and respect. Their dedication to their students and the positive impact they had on so many lives continues to inspire me to follow in their footsteps.

• Tell us about your hobbies outside teaching.

  Outside of teaching, I enjoy dancing, which is another way I express myself physically and creatively. Dancing complements my martial arts practice, as it enhances balance, coordination, and rhythm. It's a great way to stay active and connect with others.

• Do you have an anecdote to tell us about your student or professional life?

  One of the most memorable moments in my teaching journey was coaching a student who initially lacked confidence and was hesitant to even step onto the mat. Over time, with encouragement and consistent effort, they not only mastered the basics but went on to win a medal in a local tournament. Witnessing this transformation reminded me why I teach-to help individuals unlock their true potential and believe in themselves.
