About Mr
I have been working as a private math tutor for over 8 years now, with most of my time spent teaching math. However I also have over 3 years experience as a swim and surf instructor; I grew up as a surfer in Long Beach and its still a passion of mine today. I love playing and watching all land sports, especially baseball and football. I'm a graduate of a Queens College with a degree in sociology, allowing me to better understand and relate to all people, including my students.

My expertise is in helping struggling students do better in a subject that most don't love. My lessons are typically structured as intro/warmup with a problem to get started, then we jump into the planned lesson consisiting of worksheets to review and reinforce concepts; we then aim for a final "challenge" question or two to test what the student has gained from our session. I teach at the students pace, so I don't mind repeating the same info 673 times in a row -- with the same smile on my face as the first explanation. This style makes my lessons ideal for students of all ages to further their math skills and confidence.
