About Aimee

I am a second year student studying Sociology and Social Policy. I am a mature student (25) and have had experience working full time before deciding to return to education.

Before studying my current degree in Sociology and Social policy, I spent a year studying Fashion Management and Business at degree level before realising the course wasn't for me. Therefore, I can understand when you may be struggling with a subject you didn't fully understand before choosing or need extra support in.
I also had support of a tutor when I studied Sociology at A-Level so I understand the need for a tutor.
During college, I also studied different subjects alongside Sociology: Business, English Literature, Creative Writing and Art.

I am neurodivergent and have diagnosed ADHD and really struggled with education until I figured out what worked best for me. I am happy to share what I have learned and also to appreciate that other people work differently from others and what will work for one person may not work for another. I am willing to have an open conversation about what works best for you and to adapt to your preferred style.

About the lesson

Open to any age, qualification or knowledge level. Happy to work out a system that works best for you. Open to brief recap sessions or longer more detailed help with difficult topics. We can work together to figure out the best approach.

Will be able to give the most support to understanding concepts and ideas, and I can explain these in more simple terms. I am also willing to help with essay/exam prep, but would prefer to solidify these key concepts so you understand them more, in able to apply them in your own words.

First lesson is half an hour to chat about what you need support with. We'll go over your level of study and what you feel confident on/what you need more support with and set up a plan. If you decide you want to purchase a block, then I'll plan sessions in advance, based around what you need support with.
