About Shayan
I'm Shayan, currently in my second year of medicine at USYD, and I scored 98 in GAMSAT Section 3 and 85 overall. Before medicine I studied biomedical science, and science and math have always been what I'm good at.
Something worth mentioning is that I didn't sign up to any GAMSAT courses or tutoring companies to prepare. Everything I know about Section 3 comes from working it out myself, through a lot of trial and error and practice, so what I teach is a genuinely original approach, not someone else's method passed down to you.
I've also been tutoring since finishing high school, mainly in science, math, and UCAT and along the way I've worked with a lot of students who all learn a bit differently. That's shaped the way I teach: I'd rather adapt to how you think than push you through one fixed method.

About the lesson

The first lesson is free, and it's not really about content. It's more about me getting a sense of your science background, your strengths, and where things tend to break down for you. It goes both ways too, so you're figuring out whether I'm the right tutor for you at the same time I'm figuring out if we're a good fit.
From there we spend a good amount of time on untimed practice. We break questions down properly, going through the whole path from your first read of the question to actually being sure of the answer, no guesswork along the way. If your foundations need work, this is where we build them up.
Once that strategy feels solid, we shift into volume, just doing more questions so the process starts to feel automatic. After that we move into timed practice and full practice papers, so you get used to working under time pressure and learn to be efficient with the clock.
Lessons run 60 to 90 minutes and are focused entirely on GAMSAT Section 3.
