About Charnele
"Bluegrass rhythms captured my imagination long before I earned a BA in Folk Music from Berea College in Kentucky. Teaching is actually quite different from performing on a stage because it requires listening more than playing.
I spent 11 years traveling across the American South to play old-time festivals. My life has been dedicated to the fiddle and the specific nuances of traditional Appalachian music. I help intermediate learners find their footing through structured guidance and consistent practice.
Self-taught players often find the transition to formal technique difficult without a mentor. I bridge that gap by showing how to interpret the music by ear. My goal is to make sure every student feels capable of playing with genuine emotion. I enjoy sharing a monthly progress report with parents to track these gains clearly."

"Tunes should sound like they were pulled from the cool morning air rather than a dusty page of sheet music. I prioritize ear training and bowing technique to ensure every note resonates with the proper intention. Tuning by ear is the first step toward true musical independence. We cover scales and arpeggios to build a solid foundation.
Double stops and vibrato are introduced once the basics feel natural. My BA in Folk Music informs the way I present these concepts to ensure historical accuracy. I love watching the moment a new student finally connects with a traditional melody."
