About Joseph
I am currently studying a bachelor of maths at UQ. I have experience tutoring first year maths courses and hence, I have a very competent understanding of the maths and the reason it works, so that I can deliver a better tutorial to the student. Thus, I believe the most important thing when teaching a student is to know more than enough to confidently elaborate on questions the student may have and to inspire the student to learn, of which I certainly strive to do.

The lessons will be primarily focussed on going through questions the student has about work done in class. We can go through specific questions, methods to solve that sort of question, content or anything else that may be beneficial to the student. I’m also happy to proof read and make suggestions on assignments to students for no extra cost outside of the already paid for lessons.
The tutorials themselves would consist of the student bringing questions to me that they were struggling with completing or understanding etc. I would then go through the material, so that I feel that they have a competent understanding of the maths or at least the ability to practice and get more competent. Outside the lessons, I will set up a means for the student to contact me with any questions so that I can answer them back right away and/or go through the question during the next tutorial. This can be set up with whatever means you are most comfortable with.
I also have tools that can make the tutorials run nicely, for example, I have a strong and consistent internet connection. And also a laptop and an iPad and pen which will be good to be able to easily screen share to the student and show my working.
