About Phyllis
Teaching has been my passion since a young girl setting up school at home with my three younger sisters.
I have taught and been
certified in 8 states. Subjects taught include English, French, introductory course to French, Spanish, and Latin and art. I have taught GED prep and adult education for high school diploma.
I have taught hundreds of students over the years and have loved the interactions with them.
Many times students return to say how their grades have improve as well as their love of reading .

I have a Bachelor's of education in art and French. I am also certified to teach English. I have a Master of Christian Education and 33 hours towards a Master of Education in Reading. My methods are based on learning style of each individual. I also require reading for comprehension. Reading a selection is based when appropriate to individual's interests. Reading on their own when not in tutoring lessons is encouraged and sometimes required. Individual approach based on student's learning style is paramount!
