Perfect! Mmoco answered all my questions and was so detailed. She told me about couture methods and explained how and why certain techniques should be used. She foresaw what parts of my pattern would give me trouble and told me how to avoid them. She was even able to answer a question about lining with a hem that I wasn't able to find the answer to until I talked with Mmoco! I feel so much more confident about going about my garment.

When did you start practicing? How did this passion find you?
I started practicing when I was 7 years old. This passion found me through helping my mom put food on the table-it gave me purpose and a sense of creativity early on.
Which artists or works affect you the most?
There are many artists and works that inspire me, but the one that has impacted me the most is Charles James. His designs and the construction of his work are truly amazing.
What are the qualities and skills required to succeed in this area?
Attention to detail is key. In this field, every small element matters.
What is the most valuable advice you can give to help someone stay focused on creative projects?
Put your phone down! It takes two to tango-meaning, it's you and your project. Sometimes, stepping away to take a break helps you return with stronger focus and a fresh perspective.
How would you describe your passion; how does it make you feel?
My passion is headstrong and unwavering. I feel incredible whenever I achieve something meaningful.
What creative achievements are you particularly proud of?
I'm proud of many achievements, but two stand out: working on the Super Bowl 2022 project (Mary J. Blige) and creating the monument of the Ugandan President (President Yoweri Museveni during his major attack at Kabamba on 2/6/1981).
Have you ever been surprised by a student; by their ability or quick progression?
Absolutely, yes! Watching students grow and progress quickly is always a rewarding surprise.
