I believe every student has a story to tell. My role as a creative writing tutor is to help learners feel confident enough to express their ideas clearly and creatively. Many students struggle with writing because they doubt themselves, so I focus on building confidence first while steadily developing strong writing skills.
I take a student centred approach and create a calm, supportive learning environment where students feel comfortable sharing their thoughts. Lessons are structured but flexible, allowing room for curiosity, imagination, and personal expression. I encourage students to explore their ideas while guiding them on how to organise and develop them into meaningful pieces of writing.
I adapt each lesson to suit the learner’s style and pace. Visual learners benefit from story maps and images, auditory learners engage through discussion and storytelling, and kinaesthetic learners learn best through interactive and hands on activities. This personalised approach helps students stay engaged and motivated.
I also place importance on clarity, structure, and language use. Grammar and sentence building are taught in a simple, practical way that supports creativity rather than limits it. I give clear, encouraging feedback that helps students recognise their strengths and understand how to improve.
Above all, I want students to enjoy writing and feel proud of their progress. My goal is to help learners grow into confident writers who can express their thoughts with clarity, creativity, and purpose.
