About Claire
I have been teaching English for five years. I recently returned home to the United States after spending four years teaching English to high school students in Japan. The language skills of the students ranged from low beginner to high intermediate. During those four years, I attended teacher trainings with the British Council annually. I also volunteered teaching English to adult students.
Prior to this, I taught ESL to elementary school students and completed a 150-hour TESL certification.

I have five years of teaching experience and am TEFL certified. My experience ranges across all ages. I have worked with elementary and high school age students, as well as adult students from beginner to advanced levels. My teaching methods employ a mix of direct and communicative language teaching. I like to give students as much talking time as possible and work with them to figure out a method that is best for them. I try to make English learning fun and utilize games and communicative activities to teach English.
My lessons would be great for anyone looking to advance their conversation skills or who need a tutor for standardized English tests.
