I am a software engineer with 5+ years of professional experience in the IT industry and a master’s degree in Software Engineering from the University of Calgary. I am also a freelance Android developer on Upwork. I love to learn new programming skills and share my knowledge with others!

About the lesson

I always start from basic concepts first and then dive into the subject. I believe students should have practical experience with what they are learning. So I want all my students to have hands-on experience with coding.

For eg. we are learning multi-threading in Java, we should be able to relate that with practical real-life examples, right? I will make sure you implement such things with real-life examples.

Shaun is excellent at learning and digesting programming skills. Despite having no prior programming experience, I was amazed to see how he quickly got hold of Python language and I can definitely say that he is a quick learner. Book 5Hr or 10Hr sessions and save $15 or $30 respectively. I will also offer 30 mins free for 5Hr and 1 hr free for 10Hr pack.

$40/hr rate is only for students. If you're reaching out to me as a professional/intern or for a work related projects, then charges would be $60/hr due to complexities and real projects.

When and why did you develop an interest in your chosen field?
So this is from my 2nd year of Instrumentation Engineering when I realized that I don't like what I am studying and it's not something I would like to do the rest of my life.
That's the time I decided to give a shot at programming and learned web development skills on my own. I was also fortunate enough to have friends with a Computer Science background who helped and taught some programming skills. I developed an interest in this field because of the way one can think to solve a problem and help build solutions that can be used in real life. It made me happy with what I was doing and I felt like I found my passion.
What makes you passionate about your subject?
I think, If something makes you happy, you know you are passionate about it! The happiness that I get when I work is what makes me passionate. The efforts, the time that I put in to learn new technology, and helping people who want to learn what I am doing...all these things make me passionate about my subject.
What do you like about tutoring? What makes you a "Superprof"?
The ability to teach someone, sharing my valuable knowledge, and helping students with their academics, are some of the things that I like the most about tutoring.
Umm, what makes me Superprof? I think the passion that I have to do what I love and enjoying teaching makes me a Superprof. I am also good at what I do and I always make sure that I understand student's requirements by requesting study material beforehand and prepare the best for the first lesson.
Do you have any role models; a teacher that inspired you? Please explain.
Yes! I have come across many people who have inspired me to follow my dreams and always do what I love, no matter what! I am so grateful to them if I hadn't met them, I wouldn't have been here doing what I love and following my passion.
When I was in engineering, I met with a person from the Human Circle organization where they taught me, what it means to follow your passion and why you should always do what makes you happy. Those lessons were so important and a turning point for me in life. I would have stuck in the Instrumentation field if I would not have taken it seriously. So yeah, there you go!
What are your keys to success?
From my perspective, hard work and following your passion will get you where you always wanted to be. You just have to leave behind some things that are holding you back, take risks, and manifest life through attraction and belief, that's how you will excel in life.

To add more to this, I left behind well-settled life with a steady 9-5 job back in India and moved to Canada to pursue higher education and a career. Life seemed tough but there was no other choice for me. I kept going and now when I look back, the journey looks amazing :)
