About Sol

I’m a software engineer with over six years of professional industry experience and three years of coaching and mentoring students learning to code. I’ve worked with learners at all stages—from complete beginners to advanced students preparing for technical interviews—and I understand how overwhelming programming can feel at first. I also come from a technical recruiting background and personally made a career switch into tech, so I know firsthand what actually helps (and what doesn’t). I can also support students with cultural interview preparation and resume guidance.

I’m known for being patient, structured, and clear in my explanations. My goal is to help students build confidence by truly understanding how things work, not by rushing or relying on shortcuts. I take a practical, supportive approach to teaching and tailor each session to the student’s pace, learning style, and goals. I care deeply about helping students feel capable, empowered, and confident in their ability to learn and grow as programmers.

About the lesson

I previously ran my own coaching business focused on helping people successfully career-switch into software engineering. I’ve helped over 8 students go from total beginner to landing their first role in tech!

My lessons focus on building real understanding, not memorization. As a software engineer with 6+ years of industry experience and 3 years of coaching and mentoring students, I teach coding the way it’s actually used on the job. Sessions are highly interactive and tailored to your goals -- whether that’s mastering fundamentals, preparing for technical interviews, or gaining confidence in problem-solving.

A typical lesson includes concept breakdowns, guided practice, and hands-on coding with clear feedback. I specialize in helping beginners, CS students, and career switchers who feel stuck or overwhelmed turn confusion into clarity. My approach is structured, practical, and supportive, with an emphasis on thinking like an engineer, not just writing code that “works.”
