Originally Rocio’s role with me was of supervisor. She was mentoring me at one of the labs where I was volunteering. Rocio always offered clear guidelines, flexibility, and empathy when she was teaching me how to work in the lab. Due to her extremely friendly nature, Rocio became compassionate with my struggles at Uni (especially since both left Latinamerica to achieve our careers in Wildlife Conservation). Rocio began teaching me how to navigate Uni, especially with my scientific research courses. Working with her in the lab gave me the hands-on experience to improve my skill set as a future researcher. Rocio went out of her way to give me time to improve my skills in animal husbandry, experimental design, and commitment to my studies. Her passion for herpetology is always contagious and made me really enjoy the process of learning (and working in a Lab!). Thanks to her time, enthusiasm, and commitment I got accepted to do my Master’s Degree at the University of Queensland.

If anyone has the chance to have Rocio as a tutor, I can promise that you will have fun and grow while you learn

Rocío has been mentoring my two daughters, aged 11 and 7, for the last couple of years. Rocío’s infectious enthusiasm for all things Science and Nature has made them both big fans! She has an ability to tailor her extensive knowledge in a way that is clear and entertaining for all ages. Her love for the subject matter always shines through.

Ever since I made her acquaintance, Rocio has always shown high professionalism, dedication, and passion directed towards transmitting knowledge.
