About Edward
Hi!
My name is Edward and I am a gap student living and working in Cambridge. I am going to Imperial College London in September to study Medicine.
I like to teach, it can be a problem in itself finding just the right words to explain something and its a great feeling to see students progress and improve. I tutor Mathematics, Chemistry and Biology and this is because these subjects are my passion, these incredibly interesting subjects offer so much and offer some really interesting careers. I am working at a biotech in Cambridge and you can see the fascinating research which has accumulated due to studying these subjects.

I will teach a heuristic style, this means I will help the student reach the answer instead of simply explaining how to do it. This technique is much better at embedding that knowledge than a traditional lecturing style.
My teaching style will focus on understanding key concepts as these will not only help answer a specific question but will also allow students to answer the more difficult questions designed to challenge students and push their knowledge.
Every student has their own preferred way that they like to learn and part of my lessons will be working out what works for them and teaching them how to use this to revise themselves. This could be diagrams on their bedroom wall or making flashcards to do in the car, whatever their preferred way is it's important to know how to revise when they have exams in the future.
