About Karen
I have always enjoyed my time with my students and teaching in a positive way. If one method doesn’t work, I will switch to a different structure. Sometimes humor will relieve any kind of pressure! My mom found me an Algebra tutor when I was afraid of my teacher who was very tall and spoke with a booming voice. I have always remembered her and became a teacher because of what she taught me. (Use lots of paper and write big when learning a new concept.)

I am a supportive teacher who can break down methods into meaningful parts. I support your weaker modalities while teaching to your stronger memories. In other words, if you learn best by picturing in your mind the numbers to be memorized, I will teach you by learning visually and combining your auditory information accordingly. For instance: 2x10-20 on cards And: “2x10 is twenty, more than that is plenty”
