About Tom
I am a dual Irish-Brazilian citizen entering my third year of environmental science at Stanford University. I am spending my summer with family in Dublin and Wicklow, and have some time to offer my tutoring services to Irish students. I previously worked as a college essay tutor at an international educational organization and found great satisfaction in helping students achieve their dreams of studying at great institutions in the United States. I offer one-on-one Zoom meetings where I help students brainstorm, write, and edit college essays that will maximize their chances of admission into top-tier American universities.
Unlike Ireland, the US takes a much more holistic approach to college admissions, which means that solid academic performance must be complemented by essays that elegantly showcase a student's best qualities and learner profile, which can be challenging for those not raised in the American system.
I will tutor students using essay-writing techniques that got me, an international student, into extremely competitive American universities. You will also get access to communication strategies I teach graduate students at the Stanford School of Engineering. I'm happy to meet for a free consultation if you are interested.
