About Jue Theng
Enthusiastic and driven individual who is ready to offer mentoring in STEM subjects such as Chemistry, Biology, and Science to IGCSE and A-levels students. With a strong interest in the arts, I’ve contributed to public education on science through ArtScience projects since 2018 across Melbourne, Singapore, and Malaysia, which include theater plays, science exhibitions, and educational modules aimed at dispelling the misconception of science as rigid and difficult. With passion as the main drive behind my creative endeavors, I currently channel my artistic approaches into my passion project - Equation Academy, by creating a fun and vibrant environment while incorporating real-world learning to spark students’ curiosity and engagement with science. Learning STEM subjects doesn't always have to be difficult and boring as I'll make sure to make each lesson a fun-filled one! As a Cambridge-certified educator, I offer private tutoring in Chemistry, Biology and Science for Cambridge Checkpoint, IGCSE, and A-Levels, providing tailored support for student success. I also have experience in Chemistry laboratory teaching and education research at the tertiary level, along with classroom teaching experience at primary and secondary levels. Having previously worked as a risk analyst in the financial sector, this experience has given me a strong understanding of the employability skills students need post-graduation, allowing me to integrate these skills into my teaching and provide mentorship in choosing suitable pre-university and university pathways.
