About Olivia
I'm an English Literature student at Durham University, and my plan is to do a law conversion to become a solicitor. However, the most influential people in my life have been my teachers. They have helped to shape me into who I am today, and have pushed me to be better, both academically and personally. For this reason, I am enthusiastic about teaching and its purpose in young people's lives. I really believe that excelling academically helps one's confidence, as well as the opportunities it provides.

Japanese
I teach both British exam English Literature and Language, as well as English language classes for Japanese students. As I am currently living in Japan, I offer lessons for Japanese students seeking to improve their language (I speak intermediate Japanese). For British style exam tutoring, we can go over the strengths and weaknesses in your critical reading, your essays and analysis. For essay improvement, we will go through your past essays, so I can see which areas need improvement. Then, we can write an essay together, before I will give you specific essay questions to prep ahead of our next lesson.
For Japanese students, we can practise your conversational skills, your reading and writing, your grammar - whatever you need most help with. I have tutored 3 Japanese children, and I adapted each class to their strengths and weaknesses.
Classes are 1 hour, but can be extended if desired. The demographic for lessons are for ages 4-18.
I can also help with university preparation, if you need tutoring for English exams (IELTS, TOEFL, etc.)
