About Priya
I'm Priya! I am a college student aspiring for BA in Japanese. I have recently graduated from school with good grades. I realized that my favorite subjects were the ones for which I never missed classes. That was only possible because of the teachers who made our lessons not only easier but also enjoyable. I always admired certain teachers' enthusiasm and their way of giving classes without making students feel bored. Giving examples makes certain topics more understandable and easy. With that interest in teaching skills, I decided to tutor students so that I could not only teach them a certain subject or a lesson but also the way to study!
I have a year of experience in tutoring. Besides that I've helped a lot of my classmates with lessons especially in English language and literature. I enjoy teaching and would love to teach a foreign language one day!
I believe any subject can be fun, it just depends on how you study!

I don't have just one rigid way of teaching.....It usually depends on the child itself. If he/she is having trouble understanding the topics, I like to include as many examples as possible. If the problem is with learning, I make notes and take tests regularly. If the problem is simply lack of interest and consistency then the ultimate solution is to make the subject more relevant.
New ways of learning and small exercises always freshens up the mind and makes the lessons a lot more easy. For tutoring, interaction is key! The point of taking tuitions is that a child feels shy and restricted in a classroom and therefore is not able to ask enough questions or examples. I think too much or lack of strictness isn't ideal,so I try to make a balance between frankness and strictness. An overall development of the child along with the basic tuition is what I believe is the duty of a tutor!
