About Sophie
I feel inspired to teach astrophysics because it is such a fascinating subject and should be shared with students at all levels. It is also quite different from other physics topics taught in school because students learn information at ks3 or GCSE level that may be untrue or hugely oversimplified about astronomy, whereas more attention is focused on other topics when studying physics.

I take an active approach to learning astrophysics, as it is easier to memorise with this method. I will ask the students questions to further their knowledge and understanding, while being open to questions they are curious about. I believe that learning should be enjoyable and not feel like a chore, so from the start it will be clear that there is so much more to astrophysics than what is discussed in the classroom. My personal goal is to get students as curious as possible on the subject, as this is what learning should feel like.
