Student at University of the West of England studying Robotics, ready to give lessons on C-programming or just Basic Computing.

Perfect! My mum has a fear of using computers and gets flustered as she feels that she won't understand it, or that she'll become stuck, so she avoids it altogether. However since starting a side business she has quickly realised that having computer skills is necessary and unavoidable.

So I connected with Abhi with the aim of getting regular lessons to help my mum become confident with using her laptop and carrying out basic computer tasks relating to her business. Abhi was very friendly and personable. He started by getting an overview of my mum's main challenges and then asking her about her current work routines and what areas of her daily life she could simplify if she were to gain computer skills.

I liked that he was customising the lesson to my mum's specific needs. He also took his time to familiarise her with the basics on her desktop and set up organisational workflows so that she would have a good foundation to start off on. Abhi was patient and moved according to my mum's pace, explaining the steps clearly. By the end of the lesson, my mum looked like she was on a roll, seemed happier and appeared more confident. Today she told me that after the lesson with Abhi she was able to complete an online application by herself, which isn't something that she would have had the confidence to do before. Overall we're happy so far, and we hope to continue working with Abhi :)
