About David
- Hi there, I'm Dave! I am a well-travelled Subject Leader of Geography. I actually didn't like Geography at school but my Mum convinced me to take it at GCSE. Fast forward 15 years later and here I am, teaching it to others. - I am currently a Subject Leader at an Outstanding School in Warwickshire. Our progress score as a school is higher against the National Average and is the same for the Geography department. - I mainly focus on the AQA exam board for GCSE and Edexcel for A-Level but can also do Edexcel for GCSE. - I am also a Team Leader for AQA and guide a team through the marking of examination series. This has given me extensive knowledge of exam papers and mark schemes. - Some of my top countries include New Zealand, Philippines, Vietnam and Finland. - Outside of teaching and Geography, I am a fan of running and fitness and taking on the London Marathon for a second time this year. - I play guitar and drums and listen to music like Ed Sheeran and McFly.

- The start of the lesson / our first session will be around discussing your areas for development around Geography and planning on how to tackle those misconceptions. - I will make the lessons and activities purposeful and engaging, whilst challenging you to think deeper about geographical connections. - I will ensure that you understand content by providing you with low-stakes quizzes and exam-style questions. We can work around whatever you need from remembering content to exam technique. - A lesson will last around 60 minutes. - I have been a tutor for Year 11 and Year 13 students face-to-face but would now like to offer this service additional to my day-to-day work. - Lessons can be for KS3, KS4 and KS5 students.
