About Molly
I am a recent grad and I am currently nannying to save money for grad school in Fall 2021. I will be getting my masters in sociology. Due to my educational background I have a vast knowledge of social studies in general and have taken courses in several different subjects: philosophy, humanities, literature, religious studies, women studies, conflict resolution, etc. As far as my tutoring background, I volunteered with StepUp tutoring where I worked one on one via zoom with a fifth grader in reading comprehension. For the last four months I worked remotely for Lindamood-Bell where I worked one on one with students with learning disabilities: dyslexia, autism, ADHD, etc. At Lindamood-Bell I taught high school literature, high school earth science, middle school science, 5th grade english language arts, and elementary math. I also worked extensively with students learning how to decode and pronounce words, as well as strengthening reading comprehension.

I have learned that the socratic method of teaching best helps students learn. Constantly asking questions, facilitating discussions, and guiding students to think for themselves. I found this has been the most effective approach in my own educational experience, as well as those around me.
