About Lauren
I worked as a tutor for about a year with an online platform known as TutorMe, and I loved that experience! It was wonderful to work with students of various ages and to know that I could help them through any struggles they may be experiencing with writing and reading. I seek to help students learn to appreciate (and maybe even enjoy!) writing and what it can do. Writing and reading are such essential skills in this world, so it means a lot to me to be able to make a difference for students in these areas.
I graduated Summa Cum Laude from my university for two writing degrees, and I also graduated with honors in my university and in my creative writing major. I have spent many years honing my writing and reading skills, and I am confident in my ability to help others do the same.

My approach as a tutor is very easy-going and tailored towards the student's preference, just as I feel like the experience of writing should be! I begin by first understanding the student's questions and goals for the session, and then I present options of approaches to take with the student depending on the subject. I understand that writing can be very frustrating (I have been there!), so my approach is to do whatever kind of lesson feels most comfortable for the student so that, hopefully, they can learn to appreciate writing and language! I work with middle school students through undergraduate students, focusing on essay writing, literature/reading comprehension, creative writing, and grammar.
