My parents were from Poland, I was born in Germany and grew up there, that's why my comprehension is pretty good but my writing skills are not that good. She corrected my grammar, spelling, and choice of words. Since her English skills are high it made it easier to explain what I'm trying to say with certain sentences. Because of her own experience with learning a foreign language and her experience with living in a foreign speaking country, she has an idea of the common words needed and the grammar rules. By being an Aupair you meet many people from other countries and have a better understanding of cultural differences.
