About Blayze

I understand that choosing the right teacher is about more than just skill—it’s about trust, consistency, and communication. As a teacher, I take that responsibility seriously. I come to every lesson prepared, on time, and focused on your goals. My background in psychology helps me adapt to different learning styles and create a supportive, encouraging environment where students can thrive. I've spent years performing and studying with respected players, and I bring that experience into each lesson—not to show off, but to give you real tools that work. Whether you're just starting out or working on advanced techniques, you can count on a structured, thoughtful approach that respects your time, your music, and your growth as a player.

About the lesson

Hi, I’m a working guitarist with over 25 years of playing experience and nearly two decades of teaching under my belt. While I don’t hold a formal degree in music, I’ve made a career as a full-time performer and teacher, and I bring real-world experience to every lesson. I have a B.A. in Psychology from the University of Mississippi, which has helped shape my teaching style to be student-centered and flexible.

Over the years, I’ve performed in a wide range of musical settings—from blues bands and jazz ensembles to country gigs, pop shows, and rock stages. I currently perform regularly across the Southeast and have studied with acclaimed guitarists like Frank Vignola, Eric Gales, Dave Martone, and Mike Brookfield. Learning from such a diverse group of players has given me a deep and varied toolbox to draw from when teaching.

I tailor each lesson to the student’s learning style and goals. Whether you're into blues, rock, country, jazz, or pop, I’ll help you build a solid foundation and get you playing real music quickly. I often pair technical or harmonic concepts—like alternate picking, legato, tapping, sweep picking, or theory—with songs, so you’re not just learning exercises, but actually applying techniques in a musical context. I also teach reading, the Nashville Number System, and how to practice effectively.

My goal is simple: to help you play the music you love while developing the skills to grow as a guitarist and musician. Whether you're a beginner or a more advanced player looking to push further, I’m here to help.

He’s the best teacher I’ve ever had the privilege of taking a lesson from. Blayze makes its understandable, approachable, and arguably most importantly fun. He’s a genuine guy and is passionate about what he does, both of those come across loud and clear in his lessons. I highly recommend Blayze to anyone considering a lesson, he can get you started, or in my case he opened my eyes and got me out of a rut! He’s simply the best!!
