I teach academic writing to university students at BA, MA, and PhD levels. I work with students across the humanities and social sciences. I have a PhD and have been a university lecturer for 25 years

Brian is the best teacher I have ever seen. I have been studying with him for more than four years. Apart from his professional skills in English academic teaching, Brian really knows how to teach students. I think that is the most important quality for being a teacher, and he is one of the few teachers I have met with it. Brian teaches with patience, respects student's thoughts by listening to them carefully. I did not know what was academic writing and how to construct arguments at all when I went to the UK's university, becasue I was an international student from a different education system. Brian never thought I was a bad student but always encouraged me and guided me to get used to the academic environment. He is the teacher I have learned the most from in my life.

Brian is an engaging and passionate teacher, supporting those across different educational settings to enhance their knowledge and skills across a range of topics (including myself and others as a PhD supervisor). Brian's accolades in academia speak for themselves, and any student receiving his support would be getting a wealth of experience tailored to their individual needs while working with him.

Brian was my PhD supervisor, as well as my lecturer and tutor during my undergraduate degree and Masters. He is extremely knowledgeable and always offers clear explanations. He was an excellent support as a tutor, providing helpful insight and guidance to enhance my work. I always enjoyed our sessions as he is a friendly and patient teacher.

Brian is respectful, kind and patient, he creates a safe, engaging space for learning and development. Professional, with extensive knowledge, and experience, Brian places his students at the heart of the process. Whether you are a domestic or international student, Brian will help you understand and gain confidence in the fundamentals of academic writing at undergraduate or postgraduate level. As a retired C.E.O., parent, and visually impaired student Brian is easy to recommend, he makes complex ideas accessible, and learning fun. Brian will understand your needs and be able to help you achieve your goals.
