About Maira
Hi! I’m a Chemistry graduate currently working towards my PGCE with QTS in Secondary Science. I’m passionate about helping students understand science, build confidence and realise their potential. As a young tutor, I understand that some topics can feel challenging or overwhelming, so I aim to make lessons friendly, engaging and easy to follow. I want every student to feel comfortable asking questions, learning from mistakes and working at their own pace. My goal is to make Chemistry less intimidating and help students achieve their academic goals, whether that’s improving their grades, preparing for exams or simply feeling more confident in science.

I am a Chemistry graduate currently training to become a secondary Science teacher through a PGCE. My teaching approach focuses on making complex scientific concepts easy to understand through clear explanations, real-life examples, practice questions and interactive activities. Lessons typically last 60 minutes and can be tailored to each student’s needs, learning pace and goals. I can support students studying GCSE Chemistry and Combined Science, helping them build confidence, strengthen their subject knowledge and prepare for exams. My experience includes working with young learners through STEM activities, and I aim to create a supportive, patient and encouraging learning environment.
