About Ryoko

I was born and raised in Japan. My first abroad experience was a month-long homestay in Ohio, USA when I was 12 years old. Then, a year-long high school experience in Canada. Friends I made there taught me real accents and were very supportive of me. I know how hard it is to learn new languages, especially something totally different from one that you know. But if you have a good company/teacher/friend who could encourage you to learn with fun, without realizing, suddenly you will start talking! haha We can share that moment! It will be a great experience! ;) My background: I worked in numerous fields; such as a Japanese mega databank company and an accounting office in the U.S., then in a public preschool, home for the elderly and special needs, and a one-parent association in Japan. Currently, I work as a counsellor, as well as a medical/business translator.

About the lesson

I live in Ennis, Co. Clare, IRELAND. I can teach ONLINE. My approach is to enhance vocabulary and grammar through individuals' interests. I have worked with children, students, and adults for more than 10 years in the social work field, not just language teaching. It could be fun learning through conversation, songs, culture, anime, and cooking. As a result of entering and graduating from one of the top high schools in Japan, I could also offer intense learning to be ready for exams (such as Leaving Cert) if one wishes.
