About Ian
I have the best possible education and experience to tutor students in chemistry. I have a bachelor's degree and a master's degree in chemistry and a master's degree in secondary education. I have worked as a professional chemist in the environmental analysis sector for 2 years and taught high school chemistry for an additional 2 years. I am passionate about spreading deep understanding of my subject and using the very best teaching practices to achieve this. Whether students have a specific achievement goal or a general need for additional support, I absolutely have the needed tools and experience to get them where they need to go.

Students will be able to get through the many sticking points of the chemistry discipline with me as their tutor. Chemistry is a highly interconnected discipline; my students find that they develop an entire web of knowledge rather than a selection of independent skills. We will spend time discovering what major challenges are facing the student and work through practice problems and examples together to build confidence. My lessons are the most useful for anyone who finds they need more support in the following subjects: high school chemistry, AP chemistry, IB HL/SL chemistry, college level General Chemistry.
