  • 1) When did you first develop a passion for music and your favorite instrument?

I developed a passion for music when I was about 8 years old. My parents loved playing classical records at home, and one day, I was mesmerized by the sound of the violin. That was when I decided it would be my instrument. Over time, it became my way of expressing myself and connecting with others.
  • 2) Is there a particular type of music or artist that you listen to on a loop without it driving you crazy?

Definitely! I can listen to anything by Ludovico Einaudi on repeat. His compositions are soothing yet powerful, and I always find new emotions in his work, no matter how many times I hear it.
  • 3) Explain to us the most difficult or riveting course you could personally give to a student of music.

Teaching improvisation is both challenging and rewarding. It pushes students to think beyond sheet music, trust their instincts, and truly feel the music. It's fascinating to see a student's creativity blossom as they learn to let go and make the instrument an extension of their voice.
  • 4) What do you think is the most complicated instrument to master and why?

The violin, hands down. The technique required for proper bowing, intonation, and posture can be overwhelming at first. Unlike some instruments, there are no frets to guide you, so precision and a good ear are essential.
  • 5) What are your keys to success?

Patience, adaptability, and passion. Every student learns differently, so it's important to meet them where they are. I also focus on building their confidence, as that's often the biggest hurdle in mastering music.
  • 6) Name three musicians you dream of meeting in your favorite bar in the early hours of the morning. Explain why.

    1. Yo-Yo Ma - His interpretation of music is so heartfelt, and I'd love to hear his thoughts on blending genres.

    2. Stevie Wonder - His musical genius and infectious energy would make any conversation unforgettable.

    3. Clara Schumann - A pioneering composer and pianist, her perspective on music in the 19th century would be so inspiring.
  • 7) Provide a valuable anecdote related to music or your days at music school.

During my first recital at music school, my bow slipped during the final note of a piece, and I thought I had ruined the entire performance. But instead of disappointment, my teacher smiled and told me, "Music isn't about perfection; it's about heart." That moment changed how I approach both playing and teaching.
  • 8) What are the little touches that make you a Superprof in music?

I prioritise making music lessons enjoyable and stress-free. Whether it's through tailored exercises, fun challenges, or focusing on a student's favorite genre, I ensure that the joy of music is at the center of every lesson. My goal is to nurture not just skilled musicians, but passionate ones.
