About Nilushi
Hello! I am a science graduate with a Bachelor of Applied Science, specializing in Chemistry, Physics, and Computer Science. I am passionate about helping students understand chemistry clearly and confidently.
My background combines academic knowledge with real-world experience. I have worked in a pharmaceutical manufacturing company, where I used science and data analysis every day. I have also taught as an ICT teacher, so I know how to explain ideas in a simple, patient, and organized way.
In my lessons, I focus on:
Clear explanations: breaking difficult topics into easy steps
Regular practice: worked examples and exam-style questions
Individual attention: adjusting the pace and style to suit each student

Approach and methodology
I teach chemistry by building a strong understanding of the basics first, then moving on to exam-style practice. I break each topic into small steps, use everyday examples (such as the chemistry behind medicines, cleaning products, and food), and use diagrams and worked examples. Students practice questions in class, and I give feedback on their mistakes straight away. I adjust the pace to each student, so nobody is left behind.
Typical lesson length
1 to 1.5 hours: a quick recap of the last lesson, the new topic, guided practice, then a short quiz or homework check.
Qualifications and experience
Bachelor of Applied Science (Computer Science, Physics, Chemistry)
Strong chemistry background from my A/Levels (Chemistry B) and degree
Experience as an ICT teacher, and a corporate background in a pharmaceutical manufacturing company, where I applied chemistry and science in practice
I enjoy working with children and am patient and encouraging
Who my lessons are for
Lower and upper secondary students (about ages 12 to 16) who need help understanding chemistry, improving their grades, or preparing for school exams. Lessons can be one-to-one or in small groups.
