About Leah
I am a teacher with more than 15 years experience in all grade levels up to 9th grade. I have spent most of my time at the elementary level with class sized no larger than 19 students. I specialize in basic mathematics and algebra. Most of my teaching experience has been in Natrona County School District in Casper, Wyoming. Currently, I am teaching third grade in District 49 in Colorado Springs, Colorado. My students show significant growth in math and reading on most state assessments.

My teaching method is to work one-on-one in specific needs areas. I believe in teaching by showing, practicing together, and finally quizzing to make sure the concepts are grasped. I believe that hands-on learning will help retain information faster, and I will not move on until I am certain that my students understand the concepts taught. I have my bachelor's degree in Elementary education, a master's degree in educational technology, and I am currently working on my doctorate degree in organizational leadership.

Details
My rates include travel. If the student decides to travel to my home for the tutoring, I will give a discounted rate which I will discuss with the persons involved on an individual basis. I understand life happens and cancellations may be necessary. I require a cancellation notice no less than 3 hours prior to the determined time of tutoring.
