About Kendyl
I have a Masters Degree in Teaching and Teacher Education. I am certified to teach History / Social Studies at all grade levels (Elementary-High School). I will work with you so that you're better able to understand the task at hand. I love education and explaining things that can be challenging to grasp. I want to show you the importance of learning but also how to enjoy it!

I prefer Student-Centered and Student-Led Learning. I believe kids work best when you find what they're most interested in. I encourage students to take an active role in their education and give them the tools they need to feel confident in doing so.
A typical lesson plan would include topic questions with open ended questions that each student is required to answer, in their own way. Then there would be some sort of activity where students are able to learn at their own pace while equally being challenged. Students could research a certain topic in History that interest them and teach the class about that topic. Class would end with each student writing a takeaway from the day or a question that they still have that wasn't answered.
What sets me apart as a tutor is that I am easily able to relate to and build relationships with my students. I respect each student and know that every student is different and learn in different ways.
This lesson plan would be directed towards Middle/High School students in a typical American History class.
