About Ankit
Hi, I’m Ankit, a PhD researcher in Computer Science at Maynooth University with seven years of experience teaching university students.
My interest in teaching began when I helped friends prepare for exams. I enjoyed working through their questions and finding explanations that made sense to them. Seeing their confidence grow encouraged me to continue teaching, and it’s still the part I enjoy most.
My research focuses on software verification and automated reasoning. I’m also skilled in Java, Python, machine learning, and object-oriented programming, with experience across the technologies covered in my lessons. Being both a researcher and a teacher keeps me learning and reminds me what it feels like to encounter something unfamiliar.
I’m patient, approachable and happy to explain a concept in different ways until it becomes clearer. You don’t need to know all the terminology or have a perfectly formed question before asking for help. I want students to feel comfortable learning with me and gradually build the confidence to tackle problems on their own.

I currently work as a tutor at Maynooth University and have seven years of experience teaching university students. My lessons combine clear explanations with practical work, helping you understand concepts and apply them with confidence. Whether you’re starting from scratch or struggling with a university module, we’ll work from your current level.
Subjects I teach:
* Programming: Java, Python, and Object-Oriented Programming (OOP).
* Web and backend development: Node.js, Java Spring Boot, and microservices architecture.
* Core computer science: Data Structures, Operating Systems, Theory of Computation, and Compiler Design.
* Software engineering and testing: Software Engineering, Requirements Engineering, Software Testing, and QA automation with Selenium.
* Databases and machine learning: Database Management Systems, Spatial Databases using QGIS, and Machine Learning.
* Cloud computing: AWS.
I also provide guidance on academic projects and report writing, helping you plan your approach, work through technical challenges, and explain your methods and results clearly.
